Asbestos Roof Coating
5000 sq metre asbestos cement roof and parapet refurbishment project in Peterborough.
The asbestos cement roof was in poor condition and leaking in numerous places following many years of neglect.
The BBA Approved Asbestoseal system was chosen as the most appropriate and cost effective long term solution.
Because of the protection from wind provided by the parapet wall, the roof was heavily infested with seagulls.

The asbestos cement roof was in poor condition and leaking in numerous places following many years of neglect.
The BBA Approved Asbestoseal system was chosen as the most appropriate and cost effective long term solution.
Because of the protection from wind provided by the parapet wall, the roof was heavily infested with seagulls.
Because of this, we suggested that the parapet be coated in a very bright red, which, according to purely anecdotal evidence, could result in the seagulls moving away.
Once the parapet was coated in red Asbestoseal, the seagulls did in fact move from the roof and the roof cleaning and coating project was able to continue unhindered.
All moss and other debris (including seagull guano) was first removed and placed into asbestos waste bags.
The roof was steam cleaned using a DOFF system that delivered 150 degree steam to the roof surface, killing all germs and moss spores, whilst removing lichen stains instantly.
Waste water was filtered and the remaining slurry double-bagged and disposed of as asbestos contaminated waste.
All GRP roof lights were replaced and all bolts and small cracks treated with Liquasil Non-Sag Sealer before the entire roof was sealed using Asbestoseal 20.
The steel gutters were thoroughly cleaned and coated with the Liquasil gutter lining system to provide a seamless finish to the entire gutter.
At the end of the project, the Liquasil Latent Defecs Insurance Guarantee, covering labour, access and materials was issued. -
Industrial Unit Refurbishment Following Estate Acquisition
Following acquisition of part of a multi-let industrial estate, our brief was to specify and manage a refurbishment programme to a unit that had remained empty for several years.
The specification allowed for cosmetic improvement to the front elevation of the property along with major internal reconfiguration and uplift of the space at an economical rate that the local area would withstand.
